Jo started her career at Sky TV, then worked at an indie record label followed by a number of years at BBC Worldwide in marketing roles for books, magazines and spoken word. 

She launched BBC magazine publishing business for Australia and NZ from Sydney office in 2001 and returned to the UK in 2003 to start Salt Media with the launch of Food Magazine, the UK's first local food magazine, which she still edits.

Salt now owns and publishes the Indy Coffee Guide series of UK-wide books, and brand extensions cook books and this year, started Indy Coffee Box, a speciality-grade coffee subscription service.

In addition salt publishes the 27 year old fine dining guide Trencherman's Guide, an annual Artisan Gin and Spirits Guide and also provides contract publishing services for a number of leading food, farming and tourism companies such as Mole Valley Farmers for whom Salt creates the twice-yearly CountryStore Magazine.

Salt also runs events and awards that tie in to the publications.

Jo works – along with a fantastic team of 17 – across all of the above. She has judged for a number of food and drink awards, finds time to do the occasional downward dog and even sees her kids sometimes.
